1- Security Operatives Search Atiku As He Arrives Nigeria From Dubai

The Presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) for the 2019 elections, Atiku Abubakar, was searched by security agents as he returned to Nigeria on Sunday. It was gathered that video recording gadgets and other devices were used to record the search but nothing implicative was found on the PDP candidate.

2- FG Reveals Why Atiku Was Searched On Arrival From Dubai

The Nigerian Government says the travel bag of former vice-president Atiku Abubakar was searched by security operatives because checks at the airport are mandatory and conventional. The country’s Minister of State for Aviation, Sen. Hadi Sirika, made this known on Sunday evening as he dismissed PDP’s allegation that Atiku, its presidential candidate for the 2019 elections, was intimidated by security operatives on arrival from Dubai.

3- Moves to Bring Back Diezani Ongoing, Says EFCC

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has confirmed that the process to repatriate a former Minister of Petroleum Diezani Alison-Madueke from the United Kingdom has started. This was revealed by the commission’s acting spokesman Tony Orilade on Sunday in Abuja, where he said the agency’s Operations Department had made a presentation to the Legal Department to begin the process.

4- Buratai Cheats Death As Car Crashes

The Chief of Army Staff, Lt Gen Tukur Buratai, on Sunday escaped death as his official vehicle was hit by a civilian vehicle, the Nigerian Army said on Sunday evening. This occurred on the way to Kaduna in the country’s Northwest region, the army said in a statement. However, Buratai was not in the car when the crash occurred as his Aide De Camp (ADC) has been rushed to a hospital due to severe injuries.

5- 2019 Elections: Gov. Tambuwal ‘Not Listed’ By INEC As PDP Candidate

Governor Aminu Tambuwal of Sokoto state is reportedly not on the list of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) for the 2019 governorship polls. It was learned that the electoral umpire listed Manir Dan’iya as the governorship candidate of the ruling Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the state.  Tambuwal, who was Speaker of the House of Representatives during the last administration, had contested the PDP presidential primary, where he came second.

6- Oshiomhole Speaks On Meeting Tinubu In London

The National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) Adams Oshiomhole has denied meeting with a chieftain of the party Bola Tinubu in London. Oshiomhole was allegedly reported to have met with Tinubu over his interrogation with the Department of State Security Services (DSS).

7- Asuu Chairman Detained

The Academic Staff Union of Universities (Asuu) says operatives of the Department of State Services (DSS) have detained the union’s chairman in Bauchi state. Vice Chairman of the union at the Abubakar Tafawa Balewa University (ATBU), Bauchi, Dr Ibrahim Maina, alleged that Dr Adamu Babayo was detained on Sunday, when he was invited to the department’s headquarters in Bauchi.

8- Those Calling For Oshiomhole’s Removal Working For PDP – Marafa

Senator Kabiru Marafa (APC-Zamfara Central) has accused governors calling for the removal of the National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Adams Oshiomhole, of working to destroy the ruling party. The Zamfara APC governorship aspirant explained that removing Oshiomhole when the country is gearing up for elections in 2019 is counterproductive.

9- South Africa Tie Big Chance for Afcon Return, Says Ndidi

Super Eagles star Wilfred Ndidi has said the team would beat South Africa in a 2019 African Cup of Nations qualifier with South Africa. Nigeria, top of the Group E standing for the race to Cameroon, will be away in Johannesburg to take on the Bafana Bafana on November 17. And Ndidi, 21, is confident that the West Africans would not be deterred by injuries and suspension to some of their key players ahead of the showdown.
