President Muhammadu Buhari on Sunday met with Service Chiefs at the Presidential Villa in Abuja. Those also at the meeting were the Inspector General of Police, Ibrahim Idris, the Director General of the Department of State Services (DSS) Yusuf Magaji Bichi, among others. Although details were not disclosed, the meeting is, however, believed to be in reaction to the recent attacks and killing of soldiers by Boko Haram insurgents Borno state..
Prof Itse Sagay says there is no proof that the Presidential candidate of the opposition PDP, Atiku Abubakar is corrupt. Answering questions on the possibility of Abubakar being corrupt during an interview with The Sun newspaper, Sagay said despite the allegation that the PDP Presidential is corrupt, the Federal Government has not been able to provide any proof that the Wazirin Adamawa is truly corrupt as touted.
Former National Chairman of the opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and African Business Roundtable Forum, Alhaji Bamanga Tukur, says “Nigerians have no better alternative to Atiku’s presidency.” Tukur made this comments on Saturday in Yola after he endorsed the candidature of former Vice President and PDP presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar.

The winner of the 2017 NLNG-sponsored Nigerian Prize for literature, Ikeogu Oke, has passed away. The award-winning Nigerian poet died at the National Hospital in Abuja after a protracted illness. He was 51. The deceased, who is graduated with a BA in English and literary studies from the University of Calabar and an MA in literature from the University of Nigeria, Nsukka, performed his poems at various fora in Nigeria, South Africa and the United States.
