1- N30,000 Minimum Wage Will Cripple States, Say Governors

The Nigeria Governors’ Forum (NGF) says there is no way state governors can afford to pay N30,000 as workers’ minimum wage. Making this known after an emergency meeting in Abuja on Wednesday night, the NGF said states would go bankrupt if they paid workers the proposed minimum wage. The governors, to this end, are to meet with President Muhammadu Buhari to find a way out.

2- Saraki Advises APC Chairman Oshiomhole to Quit Politics

Senate President Bukola Saraki has called on the National Chairman of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), Adams Oshiomhole, to resign from politics. The Senate President was reacting to reports that Oshiomhole allegedly collected bribes during the conduct of the ruling party’s primary elections. Saraki said there was no moral justification for him to continue to remain in politics.

3- Protesters Ask ICPC to Investigate APC Chairman Oshiomhole

Protesters on Wednesday asked the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPI) to prosecute the National Chairman of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), Adams Oshiomhole. Speaking to newsmen, the CNN Convener, Stanley Onu, advised Oshiomhole to resign owing to the allegations against him which led to his invitation by the operatives of the Department of Security Service (DSS).

4- PDP Spreading Fake News To Woo Voters, Says APC

The ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) says the main opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) is damaged as it accused the party of churning out fake news to mislead Nigerians ahead of the 2019 elections. Spokesman for the APC Lanre Issa-Onilu made this known on Wednesday while declaring support for efforts aimed at checking the spread of fake news.

5- Governor Tambuwal’s Deputy Resigns

Ahmed Aliyu, the deputy to Governor Aminu Tambuwal of Sokoto State, has resigned his position. Ahmed is the governorship candidate of the APC for the state and he is expected to contest against his former boss, Tambuwal, who may fly the flag of the PDP at the governorship election in 2019. It was learned that the deputy governor was not forced to resign.

6- Mimiko ‘Pulls Out’ Of 2019 Presidential Race

Former governor of Ondo state and presidential candidate of the Zenith Labour Party (ZLP) for the 2019 elections, Olusegun Mimiko, has reportedly withdrawn from the race. It was learned that Mimiko pulled out of the race to run for the Ondo central senatorial election under the same party. Nigeria’s electoral umpire, INEC, had listed former commissioner in the state, who served under Mimiko, Gboye Adegbenro as the party’s candidate for next year’s election.

7- ASUU To Resume Negotiations With FG Today

The Academic Staff Union of Universities on Wednesday said it was prepared to resume negotiations with a Federal Government team to resolve its ongoing strike. Lecturers commenced the strike on 5 November, to press home their demands for improvement in the funding of public universities in Nigeria. Asuu President Professor Biodun Ogunyemi told journalists on Wednesday that meeting with government delegation had been scheduled for Thursday.

8- Bombs Intercepted In Imo State

Police in Imo state say their personnel have arrested two suspects who were allegedly on their way to bomb a community in Orlu town. Gistlover News learned that the suspects came from neighbouring Ebonyi State. Commissioner of Police in the state, Dasuki Galadanchi, paraded the suspects, 28-year-old Friday Ehereobia and 30-year-old Ozioma Nwosu, on Wednesday in Owerri, the Imo state capital.

9- ICPC To Charge Disgraced OAU Professor Who Demanded Sex For Marks

Nigeria’s anti-corruption agency is set to arraign former lecturer of the Obafemi Awolowo University (OAU) Prof. Richard Akindele for allegedly demanding sex from one of his students Monica Osagie. The management of OAU had sacked the professor for demanding for sex in order to upgrade Osagie’s academic result from fail to pass. And the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC) says Akindele would be arraigned at the Federal High Court in Osogbo, the Osun state capital, on Monday.

10- Eagles’ll Beat Familiar Bafana In Johannesburg, Says Musa

Nigeria captain Ahmed Musa says the Super Eagles are fully ready to get the better of South Africa in a Group E 2019 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier in Johannesburg. The two sides will face off on Saturday, 17 November, at the FNB Stadium in a top-of-the-table clash. And speaking ahead of the game, Musa said South Africa, which stunned the Eagles 2-0 in Uyo in the first leg in 2017, were not strangers as they know them very well.
