Toyin Lawani, a Nigerian famous designer, has spoken up about her emotional and difficult pregnancy journey as she marks her daughter Tinuke Eleora’s third birthday on Monday.
Toyin expressed her heartfelt gratitude for her daughter on Instagram, referring to Tinuke as her “miracle baby.”
She described the challenging moment when doctors told her that she might not be able to take her baby to term because of a degenerative spine ailment.
This news shook Toyin, who cried for three days straight.
Despite the bleak diagnosis and serious consequences for her health, Toyin claims she refused to give up on her pregnancy.
She chose to bear the anguish, desperate to bring her child into the world. Today, she looks back with relief and delight, proud of the courage it required to get through those difficult days.
“Happy birthday to my miracle baby @kingtinukeleora, aka Bossbaby,” Toyin wrote.
“I’m so grateful you chose me to be your mom. I remember the day my doctors told me I couldn’t carry you to term due to the degenerative spine disease. I cried for three days nonstop because I was far gone already. But I didn’t give up, and nothing they told me could sway me to part ways with you, even though it affected my health so badly.”
Toyin acknowledged her tremendous affection and admiration for Tinuke, describing her as a mature and fashion-savvy child beyond her years.
“You always eat fashion up like a piece of cake. People see you and think you are five because of how mature you act. Welcome to the third floor, my mummy.”
In commemoration of Tinuke’s birthday, the family travelled to Bristol to celebrate, with Toyin pledging to share the joy with her fans.
She also offered a giveaway to commemorate the momentous day, asking people to take part.
