In the northern region of Borno State, northeast of Kukawa, troops of the Sector 3 Multi National Joint Task Force (MNJTF) have repulsed an attack launched by the Islamic State West Africa Province (ISWAP).
Based on information obtained, the ISWAP fighters attacked the Mosquito Camp military base, which is situated approximately at Mile 90 between Cross Kauwa and Monguno town, early on Thursday morning. The fighters were from the Arinna Maimasalaci axis and carried heavy weapons.
A protracted gunfight with the troops that lasted roughly an hour was caused by the attack, according to Zagazola Makama, a Counter-Insurgency Expert and Security Analyst in the Lake Chad.
Makama said that the troops repulsed the attack with the help of reinforcements from Kukawa.
The Islamic State West Africa Province (ISWAP) attempted to attack Gamborun Ngala, but the troops of 3 Battalion Operation Hadin Kai successfully repelled them, severely defeating the terrorists.
He declared, “No troops were injured in either of the two encounters.”
