The Tunisian pilot responsible for transporting the Super Eagles players to Libya for their upcoming match has disclosed the events that occurred during the flight, including claims that they were ordered by top Libyan officials to change their flight path to an alternate location.
In a video shared on X, previously known as Twitter, the pilot detailed his experience, noting that although he intended to land at the scheduled airport, officials unexpectedly instructed him to redirect the aircraft as they approached their destination.
He also mentioned that he made at least eight attempts to inform the officials about the situation, but they maintained that the directive originated from the highest level of authority and had to be adhered to.
The pilot voiced his apprehension regarding the potential risk to the players’ safety, as the fuel had been meticulously calculated for the original landing site.
This disclosure follows reports that emerged just hours earlier, alleging that the Super Eagles players faced mistreatment from Libyan authorities prior to their match. His remarks have attracted considerable attention, prompting numerous individuals to engage in the comments section of the post.
