Faree, a Nigerian feminist and Twitter user, recently found herself at the center of attention after a video of her dancing to Naira Marley’s latest track, “Pxy Drip,” went viral. This sparked a wave of reactions across social media.
Naira Marley, whose real name is Azeez Fashola, has faced significant backlash, especially from Nigerian women and feminist groups, following the tragic death of his former signee, Ilerioluwa Aloba (also known as Mohbad) in 2023. Many expressed their disapproval of the artist, calling for his cancellation.
One of the prominent voices in the movement to distance from Naira Marley was Faree Ferrari, who consistently used Twitter (now X) to criticize him and those supporting his music, particularly influencers promoting his tracks on platforms like TikTok.
However, the situation took an unexpected turn when a video surfaced of Faree enjoying herself at a party, dancing energetically to “Pxy Drip.” The footage showed her fully immersed in the music and displaying impressive dance moves, leaving many social media users surprised by her actions.
As the video gained traction, some internet users revisited Faree’s past tweets, where she had previously condemned Naira Marley and others who were endorsing his music. In one notable tweet, Faree had expressed that while she was tempted to dance to the artist’s tracks, her personal values prevented her from doing so, reaffirming that she considered Naira Marley “canceled.”
The incident has led to mixed reactions, with many questioning the consistency of Faree’s stance.
