Two persons have been confirmed dead after a Petrol laden tanker fell on its side, spilled its content and exploded in the wee hours of today November 15th at an old tollgate along the Lagos-Abeokuta expressway,
According to report, the tanker went up in flames immediately, destroying lives, vehicles, and properties.
Confirming the incident, the Ogun State Traffic Compliance (TRACE) Corps Spokesperson, Babatunde Akinbiyi told newsmen that there were casualties but the number could not be ascertained as of the time of the incident, Akinbiyi released a video of the inferno to newsmen.
Akinbiyi further disclosed that, the TRACE Corps, Fire Service agents, Federal Road Safety Corps, the police, the NSCDC, Naval officers and the Army were all on ground for rescue operations.
Akinbiyi also advised motorists to avoid Toll Gate Area for now.
The bodies of the deceased persons were found at about 4am this morning after the fire had been put out.
