Two young men in police net for stealing toothpaste, noodles soap, GOtv decoder, in Ogun

In Ogun state, two guys were detained for reportedly stealing a live turkey, half a bag of rice, toothpaste, palm oil, noodles, soap, and other commodities.

Omolola Odutola, the Ogun State police spokesperson, confirmed the arrest of the accused, Kolawole Shobowale and Moruf Soyoye.

He claimed the alleged robbers terrorized and broke into shops and homes in Oke-Ejigbo. Odutola was apprehended on Sunday by the Ogun State Police Command and the So-Safe Corps in the Oke-Ejigbo area of Abeokuta, the state capital.

According to the spokesperson, Kolawole and Moruf were apprehended about 6:30 a.m. yesterday thanks to intelligence provided by So-Safe Corps Commander Lawal Mudashiru.

It was said that that the So-Safe Corps officer had sighted a three-member gang and trailed them to their houses, stating that one of the suspects with blood-stained leg was carrying a live turkey.

The So-Safe Corps operative was said to have cordoned off the houses of the suspects, leading to the arrest of two of them, as one escaped.

Odutola stated that “those arrested have confessed to the crime.”

She listed the Items recovered from their houses to include “one live turkey, kegs of palm oil, kegs of vegetable oil, a half bag of rice, Indomie noodles, macaroni, detergents, toothpastes, phones, GOtv decoder, sacks of clothes, insecticide, soaps” among other foodstuffs and home use commodities.

It was gathered that residents of Oke-Ejigbo had stormed the Oke-Itoku Pilice Division to check if any of the items belong to them. Odutola said the matter would be transfered to the State CIID for further investigation and likely prosecution.
