“Uju Kennedy-Ohanenye was sacked for stepping on toes” – Source reveals

Uju-Ken Ohanenye, the recently ousted Minister of Women Affairs, was dismissed from her position due to what the presidency characterized as “constant drama” that had become a source of embarrassment for the administration, according to various sources.

Ohanenye, known for her forthright demeanor, allegedly created significant discord within the ministry through her assertive restructuring initiatives.

Insiders who spoke to Punch indicated that a major factor tarnishing her reputation was a controversial threat to initiate legal action against the United Nations.

She accused the organization of improperly managing and withholding funds allocated for Nigeria, a claim that sparked a diplomatic controversy.

Additionally, her tumultuous tenure was marked by disruptions at two significant events in Abuja, where she reportedly demanded that the organizers secure clearances from her ministry prior to the events, resulting in public incidents that attracted widespread criticism.

“The woman is a controversial person. She stepped on toes with her conduct and the President couldn’t curtail her excesses any longer. She is too dramatic as a minister. We knew she couldn’t go far”, said a source at the APC secretariat.
