Under Tinubu, There is No Hiding Place for The Corrupt – EFCC Chairman, Olukoyede

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), had said that President Bola Tinubu’s political resolve to back the agency’s efforts has demonstrated that dishonest politicians and individuals cannot hide anywhere in the nation.

Ola Olukoyede, the chairman of the EFCC, made this statement on Tuesday in Abuja during his meeting with the head of the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offenses Commission (ICPC).

He noted that under Tinubu’s government, “nobody is too big to be investigated in this country. Once you are not playing according to the rules, we will investigate you.”

The EFCC boss said, “We believe that with the kind of President we have, who is ready and willing to do the right thing, and from what we have seen in recent times and the last 48 hours, it is clear that he has provided the political will and leadership and created the atmosphere for us to work.”

He continued: “So, there is no hiding place for the corrupt. We must give our best, we must be committed and give the President the support he needs. Nobody is too big to be investigated in this country. Once you are not playing according to the rules, we will investigate you.”

He added that by cooperating with the ICPC, the anti-corruption authorities are demonstrating to the nation that they are a cohesive one and are reaching out to one another in a spirit of camaraderie and fellowship with the intention of working together.

He mentioned the Memorandum of Understanding, or MoU, that both organizations possessed.

In the meantime, SaharaReporters said that the organization has discovered several scams committed by the Ministry of Social Development, Disaster Management, and Humanitarian Affairs.

The anti-graft agency is looking into claims of N37.1 billion in fraud involving Sadiya Umar-Farouq, the former minister of social development, disaster management, and humanitarian affairs.
