Oluwakemi, a final-year University of Lagos (UNILAG) student, was captured while carrying a sign and begging on the street for money to pay her school fees.

According to the Nigerian Tribune, Oluwakemi was observed at a roundabout in Lagos state’s Ifako-Gbagada district.

Oluwakemi, who reportedly lives with her grandmother in the Agege part of the state, stated that despite her best efforts, she has been unable to pay the N225,000 in school fees since the university announced the hike.

The part-time student went on to say that other men approached her and offered her sex in exchange for tuition, but she refused.

Oluwakemi states that she turned to public begging because she did not want to engage in prostitution.

She claimed that the best course of action is to ask for alms from sincere Nigerians who will understand and support her.
