US election: Rapper Cardi B endorse Kamala Harris for President

Cardi B, an American rapper, has endorsed Vice President Kamala Harris as the Democratic Party’s presidential candidate in the United States.

Cardi B, who had previously selected Harris as the Democratic Party’s candidate following President Joe Biden’s debate with Republican Party candidate Donald Trump, hailed Biden’s stepping down and enthusiastically endorsed Harris.

According to reports, President Joe Biden withdrew as the Democratic Party’s candidate on Sunday and endorsed his vice, Kamala Harris, as the party’s flagbearer.

Cardi B responded via her X handle, writing:  “Aha hahaha let’s go! I told y’all Kamala [Harris] was supposed to be the 2024 candidate… Stop f*ckin playin with me!”

Cardi B previously told Rolling Stone in May that she will not vote in the November election if the two major candidates remain incumbent President Joe Biden of the Democratic Party and his predecessor, Donald Trump of the Republican Party.

She added that she used to regard Trump as a “dangerous threat,” but that under Biden, she felt “layers and layers of disappointment” from what she saw as home and foreign mismanagement.

In other news, Cardi B, an American hip-hop star, has stated that she has no plans to retire from music, despite assertions made by controversial rapper-turned-podcaster Joe Budden that she will not release another album.

Cardi slammed Budden for criticizing her project’s rollout and accused him of drug use.

The Grammy-winning musician said Budden had been attacking her in the media and pitting her against other female rappers.

She chastised the podcaster for targeting her despite giving him “a lap dance two times in Starlets” when he was “high as f**k on coke” during her days as an erotic dancer.

In a recent X chat with fans, Cardi B claimed, “I’m not a quitter. I might postpone, but I’ll never give up music. “I’m not letting these b*tches take my bags!”

In other news, Fola David, the indefatigable Nigerian doctor and visual artist, has made history by setting a new Guinness World Record (GWR) for the biggest drawing by one human.

This creative titan began his Herculean task on July 16, transforming Onikan Stadium into a colorful canvas of imagination and perseverance.

David, from the busy metropolis of Lagos, set out on this six-day drawing marathon with a huge vision: to create a gigantic map of Nigeria that painstakingly showcases the country’s unique fabric of varied cultures.

With each stroke, he sought to portray the soul and spirit of his homeland.

By Friday, David had not only eclipsed the previous record of 629.98 m² (6781.04 ft²), held by India’s Ravi Soni since November 30, 2021, but also shattered it with a magnificent artwork. Soni’s record, set in Rajasthan, suddenly pales in comparison to David’s incredible achievement.

David’s dreams soared even higher when he disclosed his ultimate goal: to create a mind-blowing 1000 square metres of art, stretching the frontiers of what is possible in the realm of visual arts.

Throughout his artistic journey, David was not alone. A cavalcade of famous Nigerians descended to Onikan Stadium to cheer him on, transforming the gathering into a true celebration of support and admiration.

Peter Obi, the former presidential candidate whose presence added political gravitas; Hilda Baci, the celebrated chef and former GWR holder whose culinary fame and charm added an extra sparkle to the proceedings; and Farooq Oreagba, the flamboyant businessman who recently dazzled the crowds at the 2024 Ojude Oba Festival.

Adding to the chorus of support, the management of the College of Medicine University of Lagos (CMUL), David’s alma mater, made a resounding show of solidarity.

The attempt is expected to end on July 21. David’s record-breaking attempt is however subject to confirmation from the prestigious British reference book.
