Nigerian fashion designer Veekee James has responded to the backlash from a video of her recent wedding anniversary party, where singer Teni Apata performed.

GistLover shared that Veekee and her husband, Femi Atere, celebrated their first anniversary with a lively party on February 10, 2025, which soon became a hot topic.

However, things changed when she revealed that Afrobeat singer Teni was at the party and performed. This made people question her lifestyle as a devoted Christian, and many called her a hypocrite for inviting a secular artist to her celebration.

Reacting, doyinsolaak wrote; “I listen I don’t judge. You most probably love her as a human being because Jesus baby but worldly music. Nah, Veekee you can’t serve two Master’s even you should know that if you’re a Jesus Baby through and through.”

Another user lolarfro reacted: “It’s giving lukewarmness. well, God will have mercy on all of us.” a_global_voice also disagreed saying: “Jesus baby Daughter of Zion Even that Kingdom influencer you mentioned…I totally agree. But I’m not sure you’re referring to the Kingdom of the Holy and Just God in Heaven.”

After some time, she addressed the criticism, explaining that her affection for Teni does not lessen her dedication to Christ. She wrote in an Instagram post:

“I’m a Jesus baby 🥰

I’m a daughter of Zion

I’m a kingdom influencer

And YES 💯
