Social media activist Martins Vincent Otse, popularly known as Verydarkblackman, has criticized the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) following the agency’s alleged invitation of DJ Tunez, Terry Apala, and DJ Osas.
In a video shared online, the TikToker claimed that the celebrities were summoned over alleged naira abuse. He also displayed copies of the purported invitation letters sent to them.
According to Verydarkblackman, some EFCC officials allegedly took the celebrities to different locations and pressured them to make payments to avoid facing the same fate as controversial crossdresser Idris Okuneye, also known as Bobrisky. He further alleged that each of the entertainers was forced to pay between $5,000 and $6,000 before being released.
The activist asserted that he has insider sources within the EFCC who provide him with information about the agency’s operations. While he acknowledged that the EFCC chairman is a good leader, he accused some officials of engaging in corrupt practices that tarnish the agency’s image.
He called on the EFCC to maintain stricter control over its officers and challenged the agency to take action against him if they believed his claims were false. He also questioned why the EFCC had not taken action against the Okoya boys, who were seen in a viral video engaging in naira abuse.
Furthermore, Verydarkblackman accused the EFCC of being more corrupt than the Nigerian police and vowed to expose them if given the chance. He alleged that the agency was planning to target him and dared them to proceed.
Encouraging DJ Tunez, Terry Apala, and DJ Osas to speak up about their experience, he assured them that nothing would happen to them if they revealed the truth about their ordeal with the EFCC.
