Nigerian social media activist Martins Vincent Otse, alias Verydarkman, VDM, has commented on the crisis billionaire Aliko Dangote is having with the country’s government.
Aliko Dangote, President of the Dangote Group, recently asserted that the company received no incentives from either the federal government or Lagos State for the establishment of its $20 billion refinery in the Lekki Free Trade Zone.
He revealed the information during a visit to the refinery by House leadership on Saturday, led by Speaker Tajudeen Abbas and Deputy Speaker Benjamin Kalu.
Following that, Africa’s richest man has announced his willingness to hand over ownership of his multibillion-dollar oil refinery to the state-owned Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) Limited.
Verydarkman responded to the viral video of Dangote’s press session, stating that Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s government has frustrated the tycoon. He disputed Dangote’s claims that the refinery was being built to benefit the country, accusing him of using monopoly tricks.
VDM recommended that the billionaire reconsider his agreement with the authorities instead of opting to sell his refinery to NNPC. The internet sensation suggested that coming to a mutual agreement with the government could potentially improve his current situation, as opposed to hastily deciding to sell the refinery.
