VeryDarkMan explains the reasons why the Grammys snubbed all Nigerian nominees for music awards

  • VeryDarkMan, a prominent activist, has scrutinized the reasons behind the Grammy Awards’ decision to exclude all Nigerian artists nominated.
    • VeryDarkMan criticizes Grammys for attempting to control Afrobeat, claiming Shakti’s album “This Moment” doesn’t have 1 million views on YouTube.

Well-known activist VeryDarkMan has examined the reasons for the Grammy Awards’ exclusion of all Nigerian nominees for music awards.

Remember that Burna Boy, Davido, Asake, Olamide, and Ayra Starr were the five Nigerian musicians who received Grammy Award nominations in 2024. But none of them won the prize.

VeryDarkMan responded by criticizing the Grammy Awards, saying they are trying to keep Afrobeat from having total influence over them.

To support his claims, VeryDarkMan asserted that the Shakti album “This Moment,” which was awarded the Best Global Music Album, has not received one million views on YouTube in total.

In addition, he stated that until yesterday, he was unaware of Tyla’s identity and that Ayra Starr, who he believed to be the song’s singer, had promoted the song.

According to VeryDarkMan, many Nigerian performers were nominated in an attempt to spice up the awards ceremony.
