Social media critic Martins Otse, popularly known as Verydarkman (VDM), has alleged in a recent video that the Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria (PFN) is involved in his ongoing legal dispute with gospel singer Mercy Chinwo.
The controversy began when VDM weighed in on the legal battle between Chinwo and her former manager, Ezekiel Onyedikachukwu, also known as EeZee Tee. His comments sparked public criticism of Chinwo, prompting her legal team to issue a statement denying the allegations and subsequently filing a defamation lawsuit against him, seeking N1.1 billion in damages.
Despite being in China, VDM is currently facing an arrest warrant issued by a Nigerian court.
According to reports, the PFN has intervened in an attempt to mediate the dispute, urging both parties to seek an amicable resolution. The Christian organization reportedly expressed concerns over the negative impact the conflict could have on the reputation of the gospel music industry and its key figures.
The fellowship is said to have encouraged both Mercy Chinwo and VDM to handle the matter with humility and a reconciliatory mindset while cautioning against actions that could further damage the church’s image.
However, VDM responded by firmly rejecting any possibility of reconciliation, stating that he prefers to see the legal proceedings continue.
“I want the court process to go on, I don’t want to reconcile with anybody. It is going to expose oppressors and the judiciary,” VDM said in the video.
