Wizkid, a well-known personality in Nigerian music, recently took to Instagram to express his dissatisfaction with being labelled simply as an Afrobeats singer, sparking reactions from fellow industry professionals.
On Friday night, the Grammy-winning Nigerian musician unveiled his new album, titled ‘Morayo’, through a series of Instagram posts.
The ‘Ojuelegba’ hitmaker, however, has warned the public that the project is not for Afrobeats lovers, especially followers of his 2011 hit song ‘Pakurumo’.
The musician also blasted the music genre and asked his fans not to refer to him as a “Afrobeats artiste”.
