Veteran Nollywood actor Hanks Anuku has shared personal revelations about his difficult experiences in the film industry, shedding light on jealousy, betrayal, and spiritual manipulation from some of his peers.
Speaking on the “Nollywood Hardcore” podcast hosted by fellow actor Emma Labista, Anuku recounted the challenges he faced at the height of his career. According to him, envy and unhealthy competition among colleagues led to instances of blackmail and diabolical attacks.
“There was a bit of diabolism in the industry. Some people were diabolical, people were envious and jealous of my shine. I was blackmailed” Anuku revealed in a teaser from the podcast episode.
He expressed disappointment over how some actors tried to dim his shine out of greed and jealousy.
Hanks Anuku, widely recognized for his iconic roles as a villain, has featured in numerous Nollywood classics such as Heartless Heart, Virgin’s Heart, The Captor, King of the Town, Last Kobo, and Stubborn Billionaires.
His candid revelations have sparked conversations about the hidden pressures and competition within Nollywood.
