A video has revealed that even masquerades like the song Kese, by Nigerian artist Wizkid, whose real name is Ayodeji Balogun.
GistLover reported that Kese reached the top spot on the Apple Music Nigeria chart after its release.
In the popular video, two masquerades dressed in palm fronds were seen singing and dancing to Kese while performing their duties.
One of the masquerades took the lead and walked towards the people who were teasing it. It reached out its hand while singing “Kese” and putting on a show.
The crowd was surprised to see that the masquerades were fans of Wizkid. In the video, a group of boys teased the masquerades as they arrived.
They shouted Davido’s name to see how the traditional worshippers would respond.
Instead of shouting Davido’s name or singing his tracks, they surprised everyone by choosing to perform Wizkid’s songs.
A fan named Ibile mentioned that the masquerades caused Kese to vanish from Apple Music a few months back.
Another fan, Pretty Nana, referred to the gods as Wizkid fans.
Remember that a lot of fans responded when Kese was removed from Apple Music. They expressed their opinions on the matter.
