Nigerians are feeling a sense of loss today as they gather for the final burial of Onyeka Onwenu, known as the “Elegant Stallion.”
The music icon died on July 30, 2024, at Reddington Hospital in Ikeja after collapsing at an event honoring Dr. Stella Okoli, the head of Emzor Pharmaceuticals.
The news of her death surprised many Nigerians who had watched her career grow over the years. Onyeka Onwenu was a gifted singer, writer, politician, broadcaster, activist, and actress known for her achievements in various areas.
In a new video reveals her body being carried away by pallbearers dressed in traditional Isi Agu outfits.

CKN News reports that the family has informed that the funeral service took place at the Fountain of Life Church in Ilupeju, and a private burial took place later at a vault in Ikoyi.
Onyeka was 72 years old and is survived by two sons.
