A video has captured the moment the governor of Kogi state, Yahaya Bello, walked out of the APC governor’s meeting after he was allegedly asked to step down for a Southern candidate.
The APC governors rejected Senate President, Ahmad Lawan, as the party’s consensus candidate and are insisting on a Southern candidate.
Sources say Yahaya who is also aspiring to be the party’s presidential flagbearer in the 2023 presidential election, stormed out of the meeting with his colleagues after he was asked to step down for a Southern candidate.
It is also being reported that he was angry about the decision of the party to make Senate president, Ahmad Lawan, its consensus candidate for the 2023 presidential election.
The party is expected to pick a presidential candidate during its special convention that started today and would end on Wednesday, June 8th.
