The people of Imo have been urged to support Governor Hope Uzodimma for a second term so that state development initiatives can continue.
In Owerri, the capital of Imo state, an Ohanaeze Ndigbo leader named Sir Ambrose Obioha issued the call.
Obioha, also known as Agaffe in political circles, praised Uzodimma for giving 20,000 Imo youngsters laptops and digital skills training, saying the program has given them skills that are in great demand.
He urged the governor to put forth more effort during his second term while also expressing hope that Uzodimma had put money toward important initiatives like roads, hospitals, and human capital development after addressing waste and extravagance.
Regarding roads, Obioha praised Uzodimma’s construction efforts, noting that they were of outstanding quality.
“We have never had it so good, look at Orlu from Owerri which took about three hours is now about 20 minutes, and by that road, Uzodimma has opened up the place to development as now some people live in Orlu but work in Owerri. The Ekemele spot which made people ply Nwangele to connect Okigwe and waste about three hours has been fixed.
“Politics should not about destructive propaganda, we can commend the governor for the good things he has achieved like the conversion of the federal medical center Owerri to Federal University Teaching Hospital Owerri for medical students, and the Christian pilgrimage for a whooping 1000 people, which helped people to travel to Israel and even achieved their prayer petitions”, Obioha said.
Speaking on the Imo charter of equity, the former student activist praised Imo elders for their commitment to the document and claimed that, despite the charter’s prohibition, Orlu zone would still utilize its size to its advantage before Owerri and Okigwe zones had their time.
