Nigerian actor Oyekunle Oluremi patiently waits for the Minister of Information, Lai Mohammed’s speech after the Lagos panel of Inquiry submits a report confirming the unlawful killings at the Lekki Tollgate on October 20, 2020.
It is no longer news that the Minister said the so-called massacre was mere fake news only propagated on social media meant to discredit the government.
However, according to the Lagos panel of Inquiry, the committee, in its report, found “From the evidence of General A.I.Taiwo (Commander, 81 Military Intelligence Brigade, Nigerian Army, Victoria Island, Lagos) on pages 6, 7, 21, 22, the Panel finds that the Nigerian Army fired both blank and live bullets at the Lekki Toll Gate on October 20, 2020, for the following reasons:
Apart from the military men in uniform, the Army left its base with vehicles, rifles and guns, containing live and blank bullets. General Taiwo admitted on page 22 that the Army went to the Lekki Toll Gate with live ammunition….”
According to Kunle Remi, reports submitted by the Panel have been the best news in November, clearly showing that the massacre is not what the youths propagated to discredit the government but to declare justice for the lost souls.
Speaking further, he said the blood day would never be forgotten as those peaceful protesters who died in the cause of change will be vindicated and celebrated.
He wrote:
The best news in November… the Panel has submitted 🥁 🥁🥁
20.10.20 will never be forgotten.
The brave, the real Heroes will be vindicated and celebrated.
