Osun Govt reveals why it hasn’t Commenced Distribution of FG’s Palliatives

Osun State Government claimed that it had not yet received the federal government N5 billion palliative fund to help states deal with the effects of the removal of fuel subsidies,

Recall that the Federal Government last week announced a N5 billion palliative for each of the federation’s states, including the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), to lessen the effects of the elimination of the gasoline subsidy.

Kolapo Alimi, the state’s commissioner for information, claimed that the state government had not received the N5 billion naira fund when speaking with reporters on Wednesday in Osogbo, the state’s capital.

Ademola Adeleke, the governor of the state, will be open and honest about it, according to Alimi, and he will also address the state on it once the state government receives the funds.

The commissioner announced that the state had established a committee to distribute food aid, and that committee had received confirmation that it had received 3,000 bags of 50kg of rice from the federal government.

Alimi stated that an additional 14,320 bags of rice and 3,000 metric tonnes of maize are still anticipated. He also stated that the state would begin distributing the food items as soon as it received the remaining bags of rice.
