Dayo Adeneye, the dynamic entertainment entrepreneur and co-founder of Kennis Music with his partner Kenny Ogungbe, has opened out about a difficult period in their long-standing union.
In a lively and animated conversation with comedian Teju Babyface on his talk show, Adeneye graphically described the stormy moments when he and Keke fell out.
He recalled seeking his father’s wise advice throughout the schism. His father’s advice was astonishingly simple yet profound: nothing should come between them, and if their disagreement was about something as minor as money or a lady, they should find a way to work it out.
This unusual logic left Teju Babyface in stitches, unable to fathom how such a resolution was possible.
Adeneye reiterated that money was never an issue between him and Keke Ogungbe. Their disagreement was sparked by a much more personal and emotional issue: a woman they both intended to date.
Adeneye and Ogungbe’s relationship had weathered many storms since they launched Kennis Music in 2000, a label that propelled many Nigerian music superstars to success, including 2face, Eedris AbdulKareem, Tony Tetuila, Sound Sultan, Jaywon, and many others.
This revelation comes hot on the heels of D1 Adeneye’s scathing indictment of Nigerian women who, according to him value their physical attractiveness over their intelligence.
In a blazing tete-a-tete on the Honest Bunch Podcast, D1 took no prisoners as he slammed the practice of women brazenly parading their “assets” online, seeking for male attention with every sexy post.
D1 didn’t mince words when he ripped into the idea of relying entirely on physical appearance to preserve a relationship.
