The attorney representing the controversial artist Speed Darlington, Deji Adeyanju, has announced that a date has been set for the singer’s Fundamental Rights Enforcement Procedure (FREP) at the Federal High Court.
The postponement of Speed Darlington’s release is reportedly due to his inability to obtain a date for the court’s decision. However, Deji has confirmed that the hearing is scheduled for Friday, December 20, 2024.
On December 18, Deji Adeyanju took to his official X (Twitter) account to share the update regarding Speed Darlington’s court date and to condemn the unlawful detention of his client.
“We have finally gotten a date for Akpi’s FREP at the FHC. It’s Friday. A man who did not kill anyone, rob a bank, kidnap or commit a crime was arrested & detained by the police on the instruction of Burna Boy for 3-weeks,” Deji shared.
In the meantime, VeryDarkMan has voiced concerns regarding the possibility of the singer remaining in detention longer than anticipated, citing the absence of a judge to render a ruling as a potential excuse.
