“We Will Protect Bobrisky in Male Prison” – Nigerian Correctional Service Assures

The Nigerian Correctional Service has guaranteed Mr Idris Okuneye, also known as Bobrisky, that he will be secure in the male side of the prison facility for the duration of his six-month sentence.

Justice Abimbola Awogboro of the Lagos Division of the Federal High Court sentenced Bobrisky to prison after he pleaded guilty to a four-count allegation of naira misuse.

During the court hearings, Bobrisky defined his gender identity, stating that he identifies as male.

However, prison officials told Bobrisky that enough precautions would be taken to safeguard him from any sexual abuse by other convicts.

“He shouldn’t be afraid of sexual assault from other male inmates because our men can give him protection,” they assured.
