Kate Henshaw, a Nollywood actress, has responded to the harsh criticism she received for hosting a fundraiser for APC Governor Hope Uzodinma.
The movie actress, who was a staunch supporter of the Labour Party government and had harshly attacked the APC government, stunned many by accepting the party’s hosting duties.
On Thursday night, Kate Henshaw and comedian Okey Bakassi organized a fundraiser for Hope Uzodinma, an APC governor, in Owerri, Imo State.
The fundraiser was held to collect funds for the governor, who is standing for re-election to the governorship.
Videos from the event went viral, with many harshly criticizing her.
Kate claimed that she awoke to a call from a close friend informing her that she was trending online.
In defending herself, she stated that she was requested to host a fundraiser alongside her colleague, which she accepted, and she doesn’t understand why so many people are upset about it.
The difference between her and others, she claims, is that she always speaks her truth as she sees it.
“Someone called me this morning to check the X app.
I was invited to host a fundraiser alongside my colleague. I accepted, my prerogative.
What is the noise about?
The difference btw you and me is that I will still speak my truth as I see fit.
End of”.
“Coffee & water time Biko.
Let me wake myself up
It was a long night”.
