Nollywood actress Rita Edochie has ignited a discussion regarding the future of religious institutions, posing a thought-provoking question about the potential consequences for pastors if church attendance were to decline significantly over the next two years.

In an extensive post on Instagram, the seasoned actress highlighted the increasing divisions within Christianity and among traditional faiths.

Edochie remarked that the evolution of individual beliefs and spiritual practices is impacting various religions, including Christianity, Islam, Judaism, Hinduism, traditional faiths, and even atheism.

“Pastors, if people stop going to church in the next two years, what will be your job?” she inquired.

She underscored the fact that many religious leaders depend exclusively on their ministries for financial support, cautioning that they may face difficulties if their congregations diminish. Edochie noted that in certain countries, while religious leaders view their roles as a divine vocation, they also engage in alternative means of earning a living, encouraging others to consider similar approaches.
