Rivers State Governor, Nyesome Wike has insisted that it will be the end of the All Progressives Congress (APC) if it loses the Ondo State October governorship election to the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
Wike also said that the national leadership of the APC is not happy that the political party lost the Edo State governorship election last weekend to PDP.
The governor stated this at a Live Television Programme in Port Harcourt on Friday.
Wike, in a statement by Paulinus Nsirim, Commissioner for Information and Communications, said the APC would do everything possible not to lose Ondo State to PDP.
He said: “Having lost Edo State, everything will be done not to lose Ondo State because they know that will mean the end of APC.
“It is such pressure that is on INEC and the security agencies now that may lead to their compromising.
“I fear that INEC and the security agencies may succumb. But I pray they resist it and continue to defend democracy.
“In Ondo State, the will of the people are against them and incumbency will not work.”
The Ondo State governorship election is expected to hold on October 10, 2020.
