Laide Bakare, a Nollywood actress and author of the book “Becoming Laide Bakare,” lambasted trolls who criticised her outfits at her first book launch event.
On Sunday, March 3, Laide Bakare presented her book, and video of the events surfaced on social media. At her book launch, she wore a cream jumpsuit with an orange kimono.
Another video showed the gorgeous mother of three dancing joyously with guests while dressed in a sky-blue knee-length gown. Fans, however, weren’t pleased with her outfit.
Her boisterous celebration and clothing drew scrutiny from online observers. Critics were particularly critical of her makeup and the time she threw her kimono into the crowd, raising questions about her makeup artist’s identity and her overall presentation.
Laide Bakare quickly responded to critics, claiming that she designed the outfits and skit and that trolls don’t know better.
The movie diva went on to query trolls, wondering why critics weren’t talking about her human hair, which cost 1.8 million Naira.
She wrote, “My stage performance costume, that got them talking 🤩🤣 But wait o, shebi Na me write ✍️ script and design d costume How come you now know better than the owner? Open your brain. It’s A costume for stage play. Ori yin ma ti ku o. O which kain over sabi dey worry una self?🤣”.
