Nollywood actress Biodun Okeowo, widely recognized as Omoborty, has addressed the calls from individuals urging her to reveal the identities of the marketers who allegedly pressured her to leave the Nollywood industry.
Previously, Biodun Okeowo shared her reasons for departing from the Yoruba film sector. She indicated that her exit was primarily due to marketers who blacklisted her after she declined their advances for sexual favors.
According to her, these marketers escalated their actions by instructing producers to exclude her from film projects and even went to the extent of removing her image from promotional materials for films in which she had a leading role.
In light of her candid disclosure, many social media users have inundated her accounts, pressing her to disclose the names of the marketers involved.
In response to this demand on her Instagram page, Biodun Okeowo posed the question of whether she should name them, considering that the marketers are still alive and could potentially see her statements.
The actress, who is also a mother of two and married in 2024, emphasized that “wisdom is profitable to direct,” suggesting that it may be unnecessary to name individuals involved.
Omoborty further noted that although she has not appeared in a film for over a decade, she is thriving. She acknowledged the presence of a few reputable marketers in the industry and encouraged her fans to support actors on YouTube, where unprofessional marketers have no influence.
She wrote;
“Hmmmmm!
I saw a lot of comments saying I should mention the names of the said marketers. Should I?
I heard it’s call-out season! Omo! Anyways, wisdom is profitable to direct.
These marketers are alive, and seeing it all; they know themselves. God has done well, and I’m doing extremely well despite not featuring in movies for more than a decade. Isn’t God marvelous?
Meanwhile, God bless the good ones among them. Not all of them are bad. We didn’t date them, yet they did well. But there’s only so much they can do because, in the end, the majority carries the vote. But thank God for YouTube now.
So you fans, too, need to please support us by subscribing to our YouTube channels.”
