In a recent interview, popular Nigerian crossdresser Idris Okuneye Olanrewaju, also known as Bobrisky, explained why he did not grow beards while in jail.
This comes after Bobrisky chastises comedian Isbae U for referring to him as an ex-convict on the most recent edition of his program “Curiosity Made Me Ask”.
Despite Bobrisky’s guilty plea for naira misuse, Justice Abimbola Awogboro of the Federal High Court in Lagos sentenced him to six months in prison without the option of a fine on April 12, 2024.
However, on August 5th, 2024, Bobrisky made news again when he was eventually released. Bobrisky said in the interview that his time in jail was similar to a vacation, and that he liked it.
According to Isbae U, he and several others anticipated Bobrisky to resemble Gandalf, complete with beards, and then asked Bobrisky how he managed to remain beardless for over four months in jail.
Isbea U responded: “A lot of people were expecting you to come out looking like Gandalf, you understand, how did you get someone to bring you shaving stick?”
Bobrisky responded by stating that he has had laser surgery and that hair will not sprout on his face till he dies.
In his words; “So I have done laser, so till I leave this earth, hair cannot grow on my face.”
