Budding singer, Akinbiyi Abiola Ahmed, professionally known as Bella Shmurda has revealed why he performed at the Big Brother Naija show in a skirt.
Recall Bella Shmurda caused quite a stir online, after he stepped out to an event dressed in a skirt.
The artiste was part of the guest performance at BBN live eviction show on Sunday evening, July 31st. Bella surprised many and made headlines when he rocked the stage in a skirt.
The award-winning singer trended on Twitter for days, with tweeps mocking him for trying to imitate James Brown, Bobrisky, and other crossdressers. Others urged Bella Shmurda to admit his sexuality.
However, the self-acclaimed ‘newborn Fela’ in a recent interview with media personality, Ebuka Obi-Uchendu on the Rubbin’ Minds show has opened up on his reasons for wearing skirts.
Speaking on the aftermath of his appearance at the BBNaija show the buzzing recording artiste and entertainer said he has been wearing skirts unnoticed for two years now.
Bella shmurda said wearing skirt for him, is a form of brand identity and a means of promoting African culture. In his words:
“This is my own way of being unique, every artiste has a way of being identified, this is mine to promote African culture.”
