ZicSaloma, a well-known skit creator, explained why he decided to give up his teaching position at Kaduna Polytechnic to focus on his craft.
Actress Iyabo Ojo was interviewed for a podcast recently, and Aloma said that he changed his job since he was not getting paid enough.
He underlined his will to achieve and disclosed that he started his master’s degree while performing his community service, finally getting hired as a lecturer at Kadpoly once his duty was finished.
Aloma talked nostalgically about his time as a lecturer when he concurrently competed in singing competitions and appeared on a season of The Voice Nigeria.
He talked about how he didn’t mean to start doing skits and recalled the first time he struggled for three years before gaining popularity.
Aloma started sharing his sketches on Facebook, but after joining Tiktok, his material started to become more well-known. When he told his supervisor that he was quitting teaching, the supervisor was skeptical, but he didn’t waver.
Aloma pointed out that he quit lecturing before he was very successful at creating skits.
