Ini Edo, a Nollywood actress, has spoken up about her broken marriage and why she chose surrogacy.
Ini Edo married Edo businessman Philip Ehiagwina in 2008, but the marriage fell apart in 2014.
The mother of one confessed in an interview with media personality Chude Jideonwo that she regretted being married since it wasn’t the correct decision.
Despite her unsuccessful marriage, Ini Edo hopes to marry again when the perfect guy comes along.
Ini Edo revealed that she chose surrogacy since she had many miscarriages that caused her to give up on having her own child.
Since she didn’t have a husband, she decided on surrogacy since she was in dire need of a child.
“I chose surrogacy because I had a couple of miscarriages and I got tired of trying and I didn’t want to try. Since I don’t have a husband, I wanted a child for myself, so the eggw as mine”.
On if she regrets her marriage, she said, “Yes, I regret it because it wasn’t the right move to make.
I will get married again if the right person comes at my own time”.

Nollywood actress Ini Edo, like her colleague Tonto Dikeh, is celebrating Father’s Day.
The happy mother wished herself a happy Father’s Day on Instagram, where she shared a snapshot of herself and her mini-me.

Gistlover recalls that in 2021, Ini Edo opened up about having a baby through surrogacy and how beautiful it feels to be a mother.
In an interview with Stella Dimoko Korkus, Ini Edo confirmed the news of her baby, explaining that the eggs belong to her and hence the kid is genetically her blood.
However, Ini Edo refused to reveal the sperm donor, claiming that her baby’s peace of mind is more important to her, and that being a mother is a great feeling.
Speaking on motherhood, she described it as an awesome feeling.
“It is an awesome feeling and experience and as I watch my daughter grow every day, I am in awe of the miracles that God has sent my way and I am so thankful and grateful to be my daughter’s mother”.
