Auwalu Ahmed Dankade, an employee at Malam Aminu Kano International Airport, has received commendation for his integrity after he returned $10,000 that he found while cleaning an Egyptian aircraft.
In an interview with a news outlet, Dankade explained that his motivation stemmed from a desire to please Allah.
The substantial amount, which is approximately N15 million, was discovered on Wednesday and was immediately reported to his supervisor, ensuring its safe return to the rightful owner.
“I have been trained not to take what does not belong to me. Anything you take unlawfully, you will be held accountable for in the hereafter.
“My parents taught us to be content with whatever we have, and this upbringing made it easy for me to return the money,” said Dankade in a telephone interview with Daily Trust.
