The accomplished mother of one expressed thanks to the pioneering female artists who came before her, acknowledging the sacrifices they made to pave the path for her own success.
Simi emphasised the hard ethic of these women who overcame stereotypes and broke down boundaries in the male-dominated music business.
During her interview with African Folder, Simi praised the strong women who affected her career, saying, “There are women who have worked hard to damn the status quo.”
Simi acknowledged the influence of her predecessors and emphasised that her success is owed in part to the groundwork created by these remarkable women.
“So, I won’t give myself much credit than for because I also benefitted from other women who came before me” she added.
