Billionaire entrepreneur Cosmas Maduka has articulated his views on the significance of financial preparedness in the context of marriage.

During an appearance on the “Mic On podcast,” the chairman of Coscharis Group, Cosmas Maduka, underscored that love alone cannot sustain a thriving marriage.

Maduka’s remarks were prompted by a question from the show’s host, Seun Okinbaloye, regarding the increasing trend of women seeking partners who possess financial stability.

He advised that women should place greater emphasis on a partner’s financial readiness and planning rather than solely on expressions of love.

According to Maduka, it is essential for a man to have a well-defined life plan, which includes a reliable income and suitable living conditions, prior to entering into marriage.

He recommended that having a two or three-bedroom apartment and a documented monthly income are fundamental requirements.

He said: “Seun, it’s finding the middle of the road, because that is also important.

“There are ladies who jump at a man because he say, ‘I’ll marry you. I love you.’ Will you eat love?

“I told ladies, I say, ‘if you marry a man who has no job because he speaks in tongues, you’re not spiritual.’

“I do not encourage ladies to marry a man that has no plan for his life.

“The first thing I said, minimum, he must have a two or three bedrooms apartment where he’s living. He must tell you how much he earns every month. You’re not going to live by faith with her.”

Maduka reflected on his own experiences, sharing how he assumed responsibility by leasing a three-bedroom house prior to his marriage.
