Dori Myers, 29, had cexual relations with the boy numerous times and in numerous locations but will not be stripped of her teaching license.
Instead, the social studies teacher, who is married to Matt Myers, a sheriff’s deputy in her home state of New York, has to register as a cex offender.
She has also been given 10 years of probation.
Myers entered her plea at Manhattan Supreme Court on Wednesday.
Her lawyer Andrew Stoll told the court: “There is a possibility that she could teach adults now or in the future and we want to preserve that possibility.
“She still is a talented teacher and has those skills, and I don’t see any reason to destroy her ability to make a living and to contribute to society in a positive way.”
Police launched an investigation after the teenager told a classmate, who told a school administrator.
A co-worker also claimed to have seen her massaging the alleged victim.
