Many people have been drawn to a TikTok video depicting a Nigerian man’s bad phone purchase experience.
The video reveals how the man went to a busy market to buy a phone but was duped by a devious salesperson.
The tempting price and appearance of the phone, which was packed in a box with a brand name and specifications, drew the man in.
He must have bargained with the merchant and agreed to pay the price, believing that the box included what it promised.
He didn’t bother opening the box or inspecting the phone at the market, convinced that he had gotten a fantastic price.
When he came home and eagerly opened the box, he was shocked and disheartened to see that it contained nothing except some bits of paper.
He’d been deceived by a cunning con artist who took advantage of his inexperience and eagerness.
