Nigerian Afrobeats superstar Ayodeji Ibrahim Balogun, also known as Wizkid, has announced that his sixth studio album will be dedicated to his late mother Jane Morayo Balogun.
The ‘Ojuelegba’ singer made the revelation in a video message posted on social media account on Saturday.
He announced that the record, titled ‘Morayo’ in honour of his mother, would be released “very soon.”
While getting out of a private jet, Wizkid stated, “My album ‘Morayo’, dedicated to my mother, the love of my life, will be out very soon. Don’t be dull. “Do not sleep.”
It should be noted that Wizkid’s mother, Mrs Jane Dolapo Balogun, died on August 18, 2023, in London and was buried in Nigeria; a difficult time for the artist and his family.
Wizkid admitted that the agony of losing his mother “hurts deeply.” He went on to say, “The pain is profound.”
