‘Wizkid is on the same level as Michael Jackson, Drake, others’ – Tyla

South African singer Tyla Laura Seethal, also known as Tyla, has elevated Nigerian Afrobeats artist Wizkid to the same level as musical icons such as Drake, Rihanna, and the late Michael Jackson.

In a recent interview, the fast-rising singer stated that Nigerian superstar Wizkid deserves to be ranked alongside Michael Jackson, Drake, and Rihanna, among others.

When asked on The Bianca Show who she thought were the best musicians of all time, the “Water” singer named Michael Jackson, Britney Spears, Drake, Rihanna, and Wizkid.

She went on to say that Wizkid’s inclusion on the list was due to his influence and longevity in the African music industry.

Tyla said:

“My top five musical artists of all-time, obviously, Michael Jackson, Rihanna, Drake… It is always difficult to find the last one. There’s so many but I will say Wizkid. He has been around so long and has done so much for the culture and the genre[African music], so I definitely put him there.”

In a recent tweet on her X account, emerging singer Emoseh Khamofu, better known as Bloody Civilian, described the improvements she has seen in terms of her social media followers count after music star Ayo Balogun ‘Wizkid’ made a post about her.

GISTLOVER previously reported that Blood Civilian, along with Rema, Asake, and Odumudu Blvck, was among Wizkid’s favourite Nigerian artists.

The singer took to her X timeline to share a Pawpaw meme while stating her follower count increased from 91k to 100k in 30 minutes.

She tweeted: “Wizkid posted me on his story and I’m at 100k followers in 30 minutes.”
