Grammy award-winning Nigerian singer Ayodeji Ibrahim Blaogun professionally known as Wizkid has created a highly marketable brand name for himself and by extension continued the put the country name on the world map.
Wizkid, a father of four, has a very huge fan base and his songs have been among those projects that have put Afrobeat to the international level as a music genre of it own.
Wizkid who has bagged several music awards from the prestigious Grammys, BET, Afrima, MTV among others recently recently created a record with his last album “Made In Lagos” as it becomes the first African album to spend two years on the Billboard World Albums chart.
Recall that Wizkid releases his fourth studio album, Made In Lagos on October 30th, 2020. The album houses 14 tracks that include songs like, Reckless, Mighty Wine, Piece of Me, Sweet One, Gyrate, Ginger, Blessed, No Stress, Essence, Grace, Longtime, Smile, True Love and Roma.
In 2021, Wizkid releases the deluxe version as he adds four new songs to the mix: “Mood”, where he’s joined by rising Afrofusion singer Buju; “Anoti”; “Steady”; and a remix of his Tems collab “Essence” which also enlists Justin Bieber.
However, over the past two years, Wizkid “Made in Lagos” garnered a total of 2,213.34 Billion streams from streaming platforms.
Meanwhile, Wizkid who postponed the release of his forthcoming album, More Love Less Ego (MLLE) following the death of Davido son has taken to social media where he unveiled the track list of his album.
He also added that the new album will be release on Friday, November 11th, 2022.
