Woman expresses regrets as husband flees after funding their wedding with over N6 million

A Kenyan woman who paid for her wedding about 9 years ago has revealed her heartbreaking story of betrayal by the man she once thought was her true love.

In a heartbreaking interview with Tuko, a woman identified as Jane Muthoni detailed the horrible betrayal that followed her significant financial commitment.

According to Jane, she met her now-ex-husband in church in 2013. She claimed that at the time, he was unemployed, but she was drawn to him because of his humility.

Determined to establish a future together, Jane sponsored their wedding with a whopping sum Ksh500,000 (about N6 million), ignoring early warning signs due to her strong love for him.

During their courtship, Jane’s husband’s family cautioned her that he wasn’t serious about life, but they hoped that marriage would change that.

Despite these fears, Jane chose to be his only financial backer, managing all expenses and eventually welcoming two children with him.

The betrayal was revealed when Jane began getting heartbreaking photos of her husband with another woman, taken on the exact smartphone she had purchased for him.
