Tunde Onakoya, a Nigerian chess expert, can’t contain his appreciation after his parents are given a house by a generous stranger.
The philanthropist recently sought to set a Guinness world record for the longest chess marathon in New York.
Although the results have not been officially revealed, many believe he is on his way to becoming a world record holder.
Perhaps as a token of appreciation for the excellent work he is doing for youngsters in the slums, a generous individual gave Tunde’s parents a house.
The chess master could not contain his enthusiasm and turned to Twitter to show his thanks.
Even though his father did not initially support his hobby of playing chess, in many other ways he came through for him and he confesses his mother has always been a strong emotional support for him.
In Tunde’s words;
“Someone gifted my parents a new house today. It’s the single greatest thing anyone will ever do for me in this lifetime. Thank you
My mother worked as a cleaner in the same school I attended so I could get an education while my dad worked as a Danfo driver/bus conductor so we could feed and survive.
My greatest joy in life is to be able to give them both the life they truly deserve❤️”
