Wunmi responds to Mohbad’s friend’s claims of lying about singer’s last moments

Omowunmi, the widow of the late singer Mohbad, has addressed accusations made by a close associate of the artist, known as Spending. This individual has alleged that she has been distorting the truth and fabricating narratives in her media interviews.

Mohbad passed away on September 12, 2023, and was interred the following day. Subsequently, on September 21, 2023, authorities exhumed his remains for an autopsy.

On Saturday, Spending recounted incidents from September 10, 2023, asserting that Omowunmi’s claims in her interviews were “untrue.” He accused her of having “cursed, argued, and threatened to ruin Mohbad’s career, similar to how his girlfriend ended Lil Frosh’s career” on that day.

Additionally, Spending characterized the relationship between Mohbad and Omowunmi as “toxic,” alleging that she habitually treated him “badly.”

The post read in part:

“After Primeboy left. On our way home, while you and Mohbad were arguing, you dumped Liam and started crying and yelling,”

“I had to pick him up to pacify him at the same time while trying to separate you and Mohbad as you were locked up with Mohbad dragging his clothes despite the injury he had sustained from the show.

“You kept screaming and cursing Mohbad. Even Darosha intervened, asking you guys to stop. Your arguments were to the extent of you threatening to end Mohbad’s career like Lil Frosh’s career was ended by his girlfriend.”

“…I know how badly you used to treat Mohbad, and you are out here claiming to have a loving relationship while, in reality, it was toxic. It’s not as you are going around claiming to be.”

Spending also contradicted Wunmi’s assertions that she administered first aid to Mohbad upon their return home. He clarified that it was actually Bami, another acquaintance, who procured and applied the necessary treatment for Mohbad’s injuries.

He disclosed that at 11 a.m. the next day, Mohbad requested the presence of a nurse, as his usual one was not available. However, after leaving the residence, Spending was later taken aback to learn of Mohbad’s passing.

In a particularly surprising allegation, Spending questioned the significance of a white item that Wunmi placed on Mohbad’s coffin.

Additionally, Spending accused Wunmi of inconsistencies in her narrative, particularly regarding her conflicting statements about the nurse’s visit and her denial of being present during Mohbad’s third injection.

In response, Wunmi issued a detailed Instagram post on Sunday, March 2, acknowledging that she had an argument with Mohbad that day, but clarified that it was related to his dispute with a friend.

She denied making any threats, asserting that they did not argue at home and that Mohbad later expressed remorse, recognizing her frustration. She stated:

“I want to set the record straight. The only argument I had with my husband was on our way home because I was upset that he fought.

“We never argued in the house. When we got back from the show, he was downstairs discussing the incident with his friends, including you, until around 6 AM.

“I went straight to the room with our baby Liam, and he later came upstairs in the morning to apologize because he knew I was upset. Which every woman would have done!”

Omowunmi also raised concerns regarding Spending’s intentions, asserting that she and Mohbad had a “beautiful” relationship. She further elaborated:

“You know my husband and I had a beautiful relationship, Spending you know! Your reason for peddling lies is what is beyond my comprehension!!!!!!.”

Mohbad’s wife additionally charged Spending with disseminating falsehoods for monetary benefit and under external pressure. She stated:

“You are only doing this because of the DPP’s advice. If there was no advice, you would not be speaking now. The same people coaching you have also said they will coach the nurse to lie against me, so I will not be surprised if she does.

“You are here spreading lies as if they did not contribute money for you on a TikTok platform yesterday evening!

“This same platform are the same ones who do not have my best interest at heart and have been making my life a living hell!”

She declared that she would no longer stay silent, pledging to assert her position from this point forward. She continued:

“No one would bully me again. Not in this life, not even in the next one. If you come 10 times, I, Omowunmi will come 25 times.

“The reason for my silence all this while was because I was gathering courage! And now I’ve gathered it so keep it coming!”
