A Nigerian internet scammer, known as a ‘Yahoo boy,’ has caused a stir online by sharing a sad story about one of his clients.
He posted on his X account, previously called Twitter, that his client sadly died in a car crash.
In a video with the post, the scammer showed his surprise and sadness, saying: “I’m done, my paying client is gone.”
He also shared an email from a relative of the deceased client, telling him about the tragedy and asking him to stop sending emails.
The email read:
“Jessica, I see your messages still popping up and looking for a response from Tim. I am sorry to inform you Tim is no longer with us. He was killed in an auto crash 3 months ago.”
“I have his phone and see you two had a relationship. I don’t know how close you two were, but no matter the relationship, he is not here. I am sorry to have had to inform you like this. I will be deleting all his content on his phone and giving the phone to my daughter.”
“Again, I’m sorry to have told you in this way but see you keep texting him. So, before I delete everything, I wanted to share this sad news.”
The news led to many reactions, as worried people filled the comment section with their thoughts and sympathies.
